Karen M. Rooney, DVM

Dr Rooney is a 1993 graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked in various small animal practices and shelters, until 2014, when she purchased South County Veterinary Office.

She is married with 2 daughters and lives in southwest St Louis County with her family and pets,

Teri

Receptionist/Office Manager

Teri has worked for Dr. Rooney since 2014. She is married with 3 children and 8 grandchildren. She resides in Jefferson County with her husband and dog.

Julie

Veterinary Assistant

Julie has been working in the veterinary field for over 20 years. She is currently working on Thursdays and is our anesthesia and surgery nurse. Jule currently lives in Jefferson County with her pets.

Nikki

Receptionist / Veterinary Assistant

Nikki has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years. She is currently working on a limited basis, so if you see her, be sure and say Hi! She currently resides in The Grove with her wife and pets.

Sadie

Veterinary Assistant

Sadie joined us in 2023 and has over 5 years of veterinary experience. She resides in South County with her family and her dog.

Smokey

Official Greeter and Supervisor

Smokey was abandoned at Meramec State Park and was rescued by Dr Rooney's parents in 2014. He came to stay here and made it his home. He is often in the reception area and thinks everyone comes to pet him and tell him he is handsome.

Reggie

Assistant Office Greeter

Reggie came to us in 2023 from a hoarder. He was picked on by other cats, resulting in the loss of his right eye. Don't feel sorry for him because he doesn't. He's very happy in his new home. Reggie doesn't come up front much, so if you see him, you are special.
